Spread the word - start a chain email

You know those emails with funny pictures and jokes that circulate the globe? The more popular ones are estimated to reach over 3 million people daily for weeks, sometimes months. Wouldn't it be great if 3 million people read about puppy mills every single day? Even if only a fraction of them stops buying dogs from pet stores and a fraction of them donates the results would be overwhelming! Here's how many people can be reached by chain emails in a matter of days:

Subject line: The truth about puppy mills

Hello,

It will take approximately 5 minutes to read this letter. Reading it may save thousands of lives and it won’t cost you a dime.

I am writing you to raise awareness about the insane and pointless torturing of dogs in “puppy mills”. You don’t have to be a dog owner to understand what you are about to read: well-hidden facts about the cruel pet industry.

Most of us would never dream of hurting a dog, and we like to think that most people treat all of their pets well. But just because you don't hear about it very much on the radio hundreds of thousands of dogs live every day of their lives in pain. Animal torture is not on the front pages of newspapers.

The fact is, animal torture is rampant around the world, taking place in spaces such as closed-off backyards, private properties, and remote farms. Out of sight, out of mind, right? And what's worse, cruelty to animals is legal in most countries including the United States and Canada.

ABOUT PUPPY MILLS
A puppy mill is a commercial breeding operation where dogs are bred under horrific conditions purely for profit. The breeders don't care about the dogs' health and well-being, all they care about is money. Dogs are bred in their first heat cycle and then twice a year after that giving birth to a dozen litters before they get too old around the age of five. Then they are killed or simply left to die in their cages. Their feet never touched grass during their miserable lives. They are kept in tiny cages, covered in their own feces, freezing in the winter and sweltering in the summer. In addition, these dogs often go blind and lose their teeth and frequently develop painful diseases.

Puppies from these mills are shipped to pet stores. When you buy a dog from a pet store you support puppy mills.

It is in the best interest of this cruel industry to make you believe everything is OK and hide the horrible facts from the consumers.

NEVER BUY DOGS FROM PET STORES
Adopt dogs or buy from reputable breeders you visited in person to see with your very eyes how dogs are treated.

But the pet store told you the name of the kennel the dogs are from? Of course they did. Do you believe everything you hear?

HOW YOU CAN HELP
Send this email to all your friends and ask them to forward it to their friends. If jokes, word games and funny pictures can reach millions of people so can this email. Here is an example just how many people can be reached in only a few days: If an email is initially sent to 5 people and they each forward it to 5 of their friends, then all those people forward it to 5 of their friends, then by the time the chain reaches the 10th level of forwarding 9.7 million people will have received the message!
